'Message in a Bottle' Source to Sea

World Oceans Day, 8th June 2018
Carlos and Carolyn paddled the length of the River Thames from the navigable source at Lechlade, beyond the Thames Barrier to the sea at Erith.  They paddled nearly 300km on their plastic Bottle Boards hoping to inspire behaviour change.  They visited 15 schools, spoke to 2000 children, met several MPs on route and collected hundreds of messages which they delivered to Thérèse Coffey, Minister for the Environment in parliament on 26 June.

We collected 100s of ‘Messages in a Bottle’

Thank you to all the schools, teachers, children and individuals who gave us their messages.  We had a successful meeting with Thérèse Coffey, Minister for the Environment in parliament on 26 June.  Huge thanks to Rebecca Pow (MP) for hosting this meeting.  The Bottle Bunting was creative, innovative and inspiring and we were delighted to be able to share the children’s messages.  Let’s hope this opens up an opportunity to speed up action against plastic.
